Featured Wind Phone ~ Kihei, Hawaii

This week's Feature Phone is a little different. The creator didn't write the answers about this Wind Phone; I did. This Wind Phone was placed on Polo Beach in Kihei, Hawaii, on July 31, 2013, by my niece/goddaughter Sarah and my sister-in-law, Charley. It's remarkable as all Wind Phones are for so many reasons. Sarah went missing in Hawaii on July 20, and although found ten days later physically safe, Sarah is in the midst of a mental health crisis.

If you knew Sarah, you'd love her like we do. She's the girl with a contagious laugh; she laughs loud and often. Sarah has always been the kindest person and, cares for the less fortunate the marginalized, and is forever committing to causes that make a difference. She's open to all things and finds happiness in the simple things. It's evident to us now that when a curveball came, Sarah put on a brave face trying to spare her many friends and family from worry; it was more than she could handle herself. Sarah is again missing; we pray she comes home. Yesterday the wildfires in Maui took lives and destroyed many dreams. We know the healing power of a Wind Phone, and thanks to Sarah, there is a Wind Phone nearby on Polo Beach in Kihei. If you read this, Sarah, there is no problem we cannot overcome together. You are so loved; please come home.

Weekly, I shine a light on the story of a beautifully created and placed Wind Phone. Sharing our stories makes a difference because it's in doing so that we connect and heal. To not cloud the Wind Phone creator's message, the format for Featured Phones is to share their answers to the interview questions verbatim.
